Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas city chiefs are a professional American Foot ball team based in the Kansas city of Missouri. Presently they are a member of the western division of the American foot ball conference of the National foot ball league. I would like to give you in a few words how the team was established.
Before the team adopting the name of City Chiefs the team was known as the "Dallas Texans". The name "Chiefs" was selected by fan contest. The club was founded in the year 1960. It was then only a charter member of the American Foot Ball league. They later on decided to move to the city and they decided on a change of name and in the year 1963 they took on the mantle of the Kansas City chiefs. The then city mayor H. Roe Bartle promised the team an increased sale of tickets. With this the club "City chiefs" joined the National foot ball league as part of the national foot ball league and American foot ball conference merger.
The chiefs moved in to the arrow head stadium in the year 1972. It was here that they beat St Louis Cardinals by scoring 24 against the St Louis's 14. It was the Chief's first game at arrow head stadium that they achieved this feat. To put it on record, I would like to say "The Chiefs" hold the distinction of being the second American foot ball team to kick the butt of an National foot ball league club in an American football league - National football league World Championship Game. They achieved this when they beat the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV. They beat the Minnesota Vikings by scoring 23 against the seven scored by the opponents. Earlier they had to face humiliation when they were put down badly in the super bowl Vincent Lombardi's Green Bay Packers. They lost this match under coach Hank Stram. The Chief's had a good time between the year 1966 and 1969. During this period they won 43 games in all.
The Chief's won the American Foot ball's conference west side title in the year 1971. After this came their bad bout, which started with their loosing against Miami Dolphins. This was on the 25th of December in the year 1971. They could encounter only two winning seasons between the year 1974 to 1986. For fifteen years they did not get any play offs.
Carl Peterson took over as the General Manager and President in the year 1989. He hired Marty Schottenheimer as the team's new coach. With their training and practice they were a sue winner for the super bowl. But they lost against the Indianapolis colts in the play offs during a cold night full of misses and bad passes. After loosing a number of games the coach Marty Schottenheimer was blamed for all the mistakes. The Chief's had a win's and in these win's they had a high scoring offence rather than a powerful defense. The chiefs had a rather good game till the November in the season. They set many records along the way. But again in the play offs they lost to Indianapolis Colts. For the 05 season the Chief's brought in many new players. Bu they could not improve still then.
